When she gets her hands on the latest currency product - a Swiss franc loan, she gets a great chance to prove herself. Having the full consent of his boss - Adam (Tomasz Karolak), he unscrupulously starts persuading clients to take the most risky and unfavorable investments. Jan (Jan Frycz) is the gray eminence of the national financiers. On his phone he has contacts to the presidents of the largest banks in Poland. His cynical ideas and decisions affect the economy and the fate of hundreds of thousands of people overnight. Such as Artur (Rafał Zawierucha) - an ambitious head of an IT company, who decides to use currency options to develop his business. His partner is Mateusz (Antoni Królikowski), who dreams of independence, his own place and the longed-for move away from his parents-in-law. Although a young married couple remains wary of the solutions proposed by the banks, they find themselves cornered by a financial trap. Soon, the fates of the heroes on both sides of the barricade will be entwined in a loop of shocking events, the course of which will reveal a shocking mechanism of manipulation, feeding on needs and emotions, but also the ruthless and soulless strength of the banking system. And when all rational solutions are over, the heroes will be left with only the most dramatic choices.
"Banksters" is a story about the banking system, about the mechanisms of its functioning that have never seen the light of day, generating events that directly or indirectly affect the daily lives of millions of people. It is also about an institution of public trust that perfidiously, consciously and consistently abused this trust in relation to its clients, about the total helplessness and inertia of the banking supervision system and state structures, which should guarantee stability and financial security to citizens, about ruthless actions in the name of the particular interests of opposing political groups. But our story is primarily about people, their passions, aspirations, dreams and money, which is the driving force here, a value in itself and a means to achieve the goal.
