Far from the Madding Crowd

Contemporary screen adaptation of the classic novel of nineteenth-century writer Thomas Hardy, is the story of Bathsheby Everdene (Carey Mulligan) - an independent woman who inherits his uncle's farm. Young, rich girl draws attention to Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts) - a shepherd who delights in the fact that she is a free spirit; Troy Frank (Tom Sturridge) - a handsome and reckless sergeant and William Boldwooda (Michael Sheen) - a mature bachelor.
