The Cured

Brilliant, frightening and innovative in the approach to the topic of zombie Irish horror about the world after the apocalypse, which managed to invent an antidote to the virus turning people into zombies. Superbly received David Freyne's feature debut at the Toronto Film Festival with Academy Award nominee Ellen Page ("Incepcja", "Juno"), Sam Keeley ("All Cheyenne Odds") and Tom Vaughan-Taylor ("Avengers: War without borders ").

After many years of a global virus epidemic, turning people into bloodthirsty beasts, a drug is invented that puts an end to the apocalypse. The infected people come back to life, and the world faces the problem of reintegration of former zombies with the rest of society with untreated plague. Cured people are treated with contempt and hatred, which leads to serious social tensions and acts of violence. One of the cured is Senan (Sam Keeley) - a young man persecuted with memories of bestial deeds that goes to the roof of his sister-in-law Abbie (Ellen Page). His attempt to return to everyday life becomes more and more difficult in the face of growing social oppression and aggressive moods.
